Following breakfast at your hotel, head out for a full day tour of Tokyo. See the amazing view from the observation deck of Tokyo Tower, Meiji-jingu Shrine and the Imperial Palace, before a Japanese style lunch. After lunch, stroll through the Hama-Rikyu Garden. Then cruise down the Sumida River which arrives near the Nakamise Street Markets which lead up to Asakusa Kannon, one of the finest Buddhist Temples in Japan.

After breakfast, travel by coach up to 2,300 metres on Japan’s highest mountain, Mt. Fuji, to see the spectacular view. After lunch at a local restaurant, proceed for a sightseeing cruise on Lake Ashi and take a ride on Mt. Komagatake ropeway. You will transfer back to Tokyo by motorcoach in the evening.

After breakfast, spend the day at your leisure until the evening when you will join a walking tour through Tokyo eating street food in Kabuki-cho and Goldengai. Your guide will take you through the neon lit city to places filled with small bars, restaurants and amusement facilities.

After breakfast, make your way to Tokyo station to travel by train to one of Japan’s most beautiful places, Nagano. Here, you will receive an admission pass to the Nagaden Bus and also an admission pass to see the wild monkeys at Jigokudani Monkey Park.

Transfer to Takayama where you will experience an Afternoon Food and Culture Walk, starting in Takayama at 14:00. On the tour, wander down side streets that are relatively unchanged since the Edo period. Enjoy the sights, sounds and tastes of Takayama and experience what the locals already know and love.

After breakfast, begin your day on the Gokayama Ainokura & Shirakawago Sightseeing Bus Tour. Stroll freely through the Ainokura Village in the World Heritage site Gokayama. Then enjoy lunch at Shirakawago with its panoramic views. While in Shirakawago, see over 100 thatched roof houses surrounded by breathtaking scenery. After your bus tour, transfer from Shirakawago to Kanazawa by public bus.

Today you are free to do what you like! However, in the afternoon, transfer from Kanazawa to Kyoto via the Bullet Train. After checking-in to your hotel, relax and explore Kyoto at your own pace.

After breakfast, depart on a morning tour of Arashiyama and its neighbouring city, Nara. Travel through Kyoto, visiting Tenryu-ji Temple, Kyoto’s best Zen temple, enjoy the beautiful gardens, Sagano Bamboo Grove, Jojakko-ji Temple and Togetsu Bridge, which spans the Katsura River. In the afternoon, the tour takes you to Nara to visit Todai-ji Temple, which houses the Great Buddha, and Nara Park, where many tame deer roam freely. Finally, visit the UNESCO World Heritage Listed, Kofuku-ji Temple.

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel, then transfer from Kyoto to Osaka. Once arrived in Osaka, begin an afternoon walking tour of Osaka. This tour begins with a visit to the Osaka Castle. Walk through the newly renovated castle while learning from the exhibit, detailing the history of Osaka. From there, travel to the river dock to ride the Aqua Liner for an hour-long cruise around  Nakanoshima.

After breakfast, meet your Englishspeaking guide at Himeji Station. Then walk to Himeji Castle, known as the ‘White Heron Castle’. Due to its elegant, white appearance, it is widely recognised as Japan’s most spectacular castle. Following lunch, proceed to Maiko Station to walk along Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, the longest suspension bridge in the world. Afterwards, head back to Osaka by train.

After breakfast, enjoy a day tour of Naoshima, the ‘Island of Art’. Here you will be taken by your guide through the Chichu Art Museum where you will see a variety of displays by famous artists such as Claude Monet, James Turrell and Walter De Maria. After strolling through the museum, you will be taken to Miyanoura to see artwork such as the famous Pop Pumpkin Art, Naoshima Pavilion and the Bunraku Puppets. *Naoshima Tour operates with a minimum of 4 people.

After breakfast, meet your guide at the hotel lobby for a full day tour of Hiroshima and Miyajima. This tour highlights Miyajima Island, Itsukushima Shrine, the Peace Memorial Park and Museum and the famous Atomic Bomb Dome, symbolising the fight to rid the world of nuclear weapons. Witness the contrast of beauty and devastation between the juxtaposed Peace Memorial Park and the Atomic Bomb Dome.

After breakfast, continue your travels from Hiroshima to Hakata, Fukuoka. In the afternoon, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Hakata visiting Ohori Park, one of the most beautiful parks incorporating water in Japan. Then continue to Fukuoka castle ruins, which was the largest castle in Kyushu during the Edo period. After the ruins, visit Fukuoka Tower, the tallest seaside tower in Japan at 234m high. From there, head to Marizon, a waterfront terrace thrusting out into Hakata Bay.

Enjoy visiting famous natural hot springs Umi-Jigoku (cobalt blue Sea Hell), Kamado-Jigou (Cooking Pot Hell) and stroll through Beppu City. As the tour concludes, head back to your Ryokan for dinner.

    • 3.Note that Himeji Castle is not wheelchair accessible. Participants must climb steep stairs, etc.
  • Day 16: Hiroshima & Miyajima Tour (Depart : Hiroshima)
    • * Manner of transportation (mini bus, taxi, train or tram) between Hiroshima and Miyajima will vary depending on the number of participants.
