Day 1 FukuokaKaratsu

Upon arrival at Fukuoka Airport, your guide will be waiting for you in the arrivals area. We will then head to Karatsu via coach. We will arrive at the hotel and you can spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 2 KaratsuAritaNagasaki

After breakfast, we will travel to Arita known for producing Arita porcelain, one of the traditional handicrafts of Japan. Firstly, we will visit some famous kilns of Arita to see and learn about the process of making the sought-after porcelain. We will then head to Arita Tozan Shrine which is unique for having both a torii gate and statues made from porcelain. After lunch at local restaurant we will head to a sake brewery to learn the process of making sake. This afternoon we will travel to Nagasaki and in the evening visit Mt. Inasa. We will reach the peak by ropeway and you will able to gaze over Nagasaki Port to a view which is rated one of the top three in Japan.

Day 3 NagasakiGunkanjimaUnzen

This morning we will take a cruise to Gunkanjima "Battleship Island" a former coal mine, where more than 5000 people used to call the island home, since every piece of land was built up the island came to resemble a massive battleship. In the afternoon we will return to Nagasaki and visit Nagasaki Peace Park Museum, Glover Garden, an Oura Church before heading to Unzen.

Day 4 UnzenKumamoto

Today we will firstly visit Hot Foot 105 a 105m long foot bath also with a temperature of 105 degrees, this foot bath is currently the longest in the whole of Japan! After a relaxing foot soak we will proceed to Unzen Jigoku Hells where you can observe the characteristic plants growing in the harsh and hellish conditions while watching the hot spring's steam and sulphur ejecting with an airy sound. We will then proceed to Shimabara to board the ferry to Kumamoto. This afternoon we will visit Kumamoto Castle and Suizenji Park, famous for its replica of miniature Japan such as Mt. Fuji and Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto.

Day 5 KumamotoTakachiho

This morning we will head to Kikuchi Keikoku, renowned as one of Japan’s 44 Forest Bathing sites which is a photographer’s and botanist’s dream, due to the translucent blue Kikuchi river winding and falling beautifully through the wooded shady valley. Following here we will head to Mt. Aso in hope to see the bellowing smoke coming from the still activate volcano before heading onto Amano Iwato Shrine. This afternoon we will visit Takachiho Gorge to stroll the paved path that runs along the edge of the gorge. Here we will be able to see beautiful views including the Minainotaki waterfall cascading down to the river below. Tonight we will enjoy dinner at the hotel and then head to the nearby Takachiho Shrine to experience a Kagura performance.

Day 6 TakachihoBeppu

After breakfast, on your way Beppu we will stop at Harajiri Falls - a scenic waterfall selected as one of the top 100 waterfalls of Japan. After lunch we will visit Usuki Sekibutsu known for Buddhas sculpted into cliff faces before heading to visit Jigoku within Beppu. The first Jigoku we will visit will be Oniishi Bouzu a boiling grey thermal mud Jigoku followed by Umi Jigoku which features a pond of unique, cobalt blue water, created by the explosion of Mount Tsurumi 300 years ago. This evening after dinner is at leisure and we recommend you enjoy the hot spring facilities of the hotel.

Day 7 BeppuYufuinBeppu

This morning we will take part in a Sand Bath experience unique to Beppu. We will put on a Japanese Yukata robe and be buried in warm sand whilst you close your eyes to take a nap or relax watching the nearby ocean.After lunch we will proceed to Yufuin and spend some time strolling the cafes, boutiques and small museums as well as looking at Lake Kinrinko. The final stop for today will be Usa Jingu one of the most prestigious shrines in Kyushu with a 1300-year history.

Day 8 BeppuFukuoka

Today we will make our way back to Fukuoka city for your last night in Japan. The first stop of the morning will be Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine dedicated to the spirit of Sugawara Michizane, a scholar and politician of the Heian Period. After lunch, we will visit Kushida Shrine one of the oldest shrines in Fukuoka and has the biggest Otafuku mask in Japan. Here we will pray for eternal youth before proceeding to Fukuoka Towers observation deck which offers 360-degree views of the surrounding area including the artificial Seaside Momochi Beach Park.

Day 9 Fukuoka

After breakfast, the day is free at leisure until we head by coach to Fukuoka airport for your departing flight.
